Todo ya está a punto para que el día 1 de febrero de comienzo la IV temporada de la clase J80 en Lanzarote, donde participan un total de 35 tripulaciones procedentes de todas las Islas Canarias.
JJ Palmensis, defiende el título conseguido en la pasada liga con la misma tripulación del año pasado y con el apoyo de Televisión Pública Canaria que se unen a un proyecto más ambicioso y que va a mejorar de forma notable la difusión mediática de la flota J80 de Lanzarote.
A priori todo apunta a que los principales rivales serán el Princesa Yaiza de Rayco Tabares, reciente subcampeón de Europa de la clase Snipe, Óptica Rade de Leonardo Armas, que siempre ha estado en puestos de podium en las tres ligas pasadas y Brues&Fernández de Aureliano Negrín, miembro del Desafío Copa América.
Los títulos en juego son los siguientes:
Copa de la Liga Insular de Lanzarote (enero-marzo)
Liga Insular de Lanzarote (abril-noviembre)
Campeonato de Canarias (Marzo)
Campeonato de España
Copa de España (1,2,3 mayo)
Campeonato de Mundo (4-11 julio)
Los equipos han aprovechado el invierno para poner sus embarcaciones a punto y en Puerto Calero, Marina Rubicón y Casino Club Náutico de Arrecife ya se vive un gran ambiente náutico con todo lo que envuelve a la competición de J80.
